About the position

We are seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to cover an FMLA position in a great school district starting ASAP through the end of October. This full-time itinerant position involves providing direct and consultative services to students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing, developing language, communication, and self-advocacy skills, and implementing IEPs and lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
• Develop language, communication, and self-advocacy skills with students of various abilities.
• Develop and implement IEPs and lesson plans within the classroom.
• Travel between near campuses as this is an itinerant position.

Requirements

• Must be an Illinois licensed teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing.
• Have a PEL with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Endorsement.
• Fluency in Sign Language.
