About the position

The FNS Director will oversee staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety, and kitchen sanitation, all in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans, and the current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our community. In this position, you will supervise food service staff and ensure compliance with all health, sanitary, and infection control policies. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment while providing excellent service to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and community staff. Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation of the food service department including staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety, and kitchen sanitation.
  • Ensure quality nutritional services are provided daily to residents.
  • Supervise food service staff and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow community policies, physician orders, and resident care plans in food service operations.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a certified food service manager or have an associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality with a focus on food service or restaurant management.
  • Must possess a Food Handler level II or similar food safety certification per state requirements.
  • Ability to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers, and community staff effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Previous cooking experience preferred.
