About the position

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented FOIA & Privacy Analyst to join our team in Washington, DC. This full-time position requires a strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations, particularly the Privacy Act (PA) and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive privacy support, which includes drafting essential privacy compliance documentation such as Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and System of Records Notices (SORNs). The role demands a proactive approach to managing FOIA and PA requests, ensuring that all disclosures of sensitive personal information are handled in accordance with applicable laws and agency policies. In this role, the analyst will intake, review, and analyze FOIA and PA requests, engaging with relevant agency stakeholders to locate requested records. The ability to interpret and apply agency policies, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is crucial to ensure compliance and appropriate disclosure. The analyst will also maintain accurate administrative records of disclosure requests and prepare correspondence related to PA disclosures. This position requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a commitment to high-performance standards. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of general work experience, with at least two to three years specifically in processing PA disclosure requests, either in federal service or equivalent public or private sector roles. Familiarity with FOIA and PA tools such as Adobe Pro, FIPS, FIRST, FOIAXpress, FOIAonline, and Relativity is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, is also required. A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is a plus, and candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust - Tier IV High-Risk Background Investigation clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive privacy support including drafting privacy compliance documentation such as Privacy Threshold Analysis (PTA), Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), and SORNs.
  • Intake, review, and analyze FOIA and PA requests.
  • Research and interpret applicable agency policies, regulations, SOPs, and ISAs to ensure appropriate disclosure of sensitive personal information.
  • Engage relevant agency stakeholders to locate requested records and confirm that the release and disclosure of responsive documents adhere to applicable exemptions and/or exclusions.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate administrative record of disclosure requests and provide status reports in support of agency reporting requirements.
  • Prepare PA disclosure correspondence and other communications.
  • Work autonomously and efficiently at a high-performance level with minimal input from program leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; a four-year college degree preferred.
  • Two years of general work experience and two to three years of experience processing PA disclosure requests.
  • Experience with FOIA and PA tools such as Adobe Pro, FIPS, FIRST, FOIAXpress, FOIAonline, and Relativity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications: Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is a plus.
