About the position

The Food and Beverage Manager at Kingsmill Resort is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all food service facilities. This role includes managing menu planning, food preparation, presentation, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The manager must demonstrate strong leadership and operational skills while providing a fine dining experience for guests and members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure superior standards of food service and quality are met or exceeded at all facilities.
  • Monitor F&B operations performance and adjust strategies to positively impact revenue and cost controls.
  • Assist in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and banquet functions.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire food and beverage management and staff associates as needed.
  • Train and support all food and beverage management and associates to ensure performance meets established standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports focused on goals, objectives, and staff development.
  • Counsel and document performance issues of staff as necessary.
  • Develop menus in collaboration with the food and beverage team.
  • Abide by all state, local, and municipal laws and regulations regarding liquor and food safety.
  • Ensure compliance with Kingsmill guidelines and standards by all staff.
  • Handle guest and member service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Interact with guests to ensure service and food quality expectations are met.
  • Monitor feedback from comment cards and provide written comments on actions taken.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Manager level certification in TIPS or ServSafe alcohol awareness program and food handling required within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management level experience in upscale and/or casual restaurants.
  • Proficiency with business software applications including Excel and Word.
  • Strong budgetary, forecasting, and cost control skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly energetic and friendly personality, hands-on and visible to members, guests, and staff.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and earn respect from a veteran staff.
  • Strong sense of service with proven training and development skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in training and development within the food and beverage sector.
