About the position

The Food and Beverage Outlet Manager at The Westin Houston Medical Center is responsible for leading and managing the dining experiences at Terrace 54 Restaurant, SIP Café, and In Room Dining. This role focuses on fostering a positive culture, enhancing guest satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence while adhering to company standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Foster the Pearl Culture within the team.
• Conduct interviews and select suitable candidates for the restaurant.
• Mentor, train, and motivate associates to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
• Schedule staff according to demand and budget guidelines.
• Increase guest satisfaction across all dining areas.
• Manage restaurant operations including budgeting, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with city sanitation regulations and Marriott standards.
• Recruit, orient, train, and manage employee performance and development.
• Contribute to strategic planning and operational objectives for the restaurant.
• Control costs through effective portion control and waste management.
• Ensure legal compliance regarding alcoholic beverages.
• Maximize bar profitability through accurate monitoring of charges and portion control.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment by enforcing sanitation standards and legal regulations.
• Control ambiance through management of lighting, music, and service quality.
• Enhance the reputation of the department by accepting ownership of new requests.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in restaurant management.
• Strong interviewing skills.
• Proven background in restaurant management.
• Ability to mentor and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of budgeting, food costs, and inventory management.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale systems.
• Compliance with city sanitation regulations and Marriott standards.
