About the position
The Food and Beverage Quality Laboratory Technician at American Beverage Marketers is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials and finished products through rigorous testing and inspection. This role supports laboratory analysis, product development, and quality assurance, contributing to the company's commitment to high-quality liquid cocktail mixes. The technician will work closely with food scientists and technologists, conducting experiments and maintaining laboratory equipment to uphold industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and test raw materials and products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Provide technical support in laboratory analysis, product development, and quality assurance.
- Conduct raw ingredient experiments in both production and laboratory settings.
- Assist food scientists in research and development and quality control processes.
- Taste or smell foods and beverages to ensure flavor specifications are met.
- Conduct standardized tests on food and beverages to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Maintain records of testing results as required by governing agencies.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Inspect finished goods in the production environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- 2 years of laboratory experience (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in quality assurance (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
- Experience calibrating instruments and operating testing instruments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Ability to perform calculations related to rates, ratios, percentages, and volumes.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with database programs.
