About the position
The Food and Beverage Supervisor at Harrah's Hoosier Park is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service, and managing a team of staff members. This role involves supervising various positions, controlling costs, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive work environment. The supervisor will also conduct inspections, manage risk factors, and ensure that all food and beverage products meet established standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of food and beverage outlets.
- Directly supervise staff including bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff.
- Assist in controlling costs of sales, labor, and profitability.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and assign workstations to team members.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies.
- Communicate regularly with team members to facilitate effective communication.
- Conduct daily inspections of service areas to ensure proper operating order.
- Solicit and respond to guest feedback to improve service standards.
- Manage risk factors to eliminate exposure to claims and legal challenges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of related experience or training preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
- Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts accurately.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
