About the position

The Food & Beverage Controller position at Glacier National Park Lodges in Columbia Falls, MT, is a seasonal role focused on overseeing payroll management, inventory control, and procurement processes. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with company policies while delivering excellent guest service. The controller will track financial performance and collaborate with various departments to maintain efficient operations across all food and beverage locations, contributing to a warm and friendly hospitality experience for guests.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties toward the goal of meeting financial performance goals and providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
  • Assist the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director, and work closely with the Payroll Office to ensure proper Kronos timekeeping procedures are followed.
  • Oversee payroll reporting from each location, ensuring that hours are approved accurately and within suitable time-frames.
  • Track daily and weekly payroll costs.
  • Prepare labor to sales analysis.
  • Take weekly inventory of food and beverage product in Columbia Falls warehouse and order appropriate amounts to maintain par levels.
  • Maintain Cloud Suite database of food and beverage items.
  • Enter field invoices into Cloud Suite.
  • Generate order guides for all F&B operations.
  • Liaison between Location Chefs and Sysco ensuring successful food procurement activities.
  • Monitor Sysco orders for out of stock items and arrange appropriate substitutions.
  • Generate purchase orders in line with company policy.
  • Audit and assist in monthly inventory process on location.
  • May assist in financial and labor audits.
  • Follow and enforce Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
  • Follow and enforce Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risks to self and others.
  • Follow and enforce Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible and accept additional and/or different duties as assigned at any time as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Experience in Food and Beverage is preferred.
  • Previous accounting experience, preferably with food and beverage operations, is preferred.
  • Ability to teach and motivate line employees and managers to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to organize and follow-up with specific time-lines and hold individuals accountable for their responsibilities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and utilize effective time management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate: verbally and in written form; in person, via phone and e-mail.
  • General office skills including calculating, filing, appropriate telephone manner.
  • Ability to work with numbers accurately with speed and attention to details.
  • Knowledge of computer systems required: Preferably experience with Kronos, Excel, Cloud Suite, Sysco, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills.
