About the position

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage service staff in various facilities, ensuring high levels of member service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and achieving financial goals for sales and expenses. This role involves managing service aspects, staff training, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events.
  • Oversee Smokehouse catering and Sacred Grounds operations, ensuring proper staff attendance and supply orders.
  • Ensure all service staff adhere to appearance standards and are in proper uniform.
  • Hire, manage, and train staff in technical and non-technical aspects of their roles.
  • Create and maintain weekly schedules for staff, communicating changes as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-shift, pre-meal, and pre-event meetings with staff.
  • Evaluate and supervise staff performance, carrying out disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Make rounds of all food and beverage outlets to ensure member/guest needs are met.
  • Complete and administer employee performance appraisals.
  • Conduct monthly beverage inventories and quarterly dishware inventories.
  • Open and close facilities, ensuring security and proper shutdown procedures.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when other management staff are absent, supervising remaining staff.
  • Control costs of food and beverage outlets, assisting in purchasing and monitoring labor costs.
  • Maintain accurate daily and weekly punch details for service staff and process sales reports.
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation policies to protect staff and guests.
  • Handle inquiries and concerns from members/guests, providing solutions and feedback for service improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to ensure a pleasant dining experience and menu creation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive responsibility in the food and beverage industry
  • Minimum of 4 years of personnel management experience, preferably in hospitality/service industry
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's Degree in hospitality management or related field
  • Experience in inventory management within the hospitality industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications
