About the position

The Food & Beverage Manager (Seasonal) is responsible for directing and organizing the activities of the Food and Beverage Department to ensure high standards of quality, service, and merchandising, ultimately maximizing profits. This role emphasizes Banquet Management and involves overseeing banquet operations and assisting in food and beverage outlets, particularly during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Clearly describe, assign, and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of various food and beverage sub-departments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve profitability.
  • Participate with the chef and restaurant managers in creating attractive and merchandising menus.
  • Implement effective control of food, beverage, and labor costs among all sub-departments.
  • Assist area managers in establishing and achieving profit objectives and quality standards.
  • Regularly review and evaluate customer acceptance of restaurants and banquet services, recommending new operating and marketing policies as needed.
  • Develop operating tools necessary for modern management principles, such as budgeting and forecasting.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage program, requiring weekend stay-over and monitoring throughout the hotel.
  • Operate MS programs in computer and perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards.

Requirements

  • Considerable skill in complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience and tact.
  • Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and perform essential job functions continuously.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe product quality and detect emergency situations.
