About the position

The Food & Beverage Manager at SageLife is responsible for overseeing kitchen food preparation and managing dining services operations for Independent and Assisted Living dining rooms. This role emphasizes high-quality operational execution, teamwork, and exceptional service, aligning with the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct kitchen food preparation and manage dining services operations for Independent and Assisted Living dining rooms.
• Work closely with dining personnel to ensure high-quality operational execution.
• Train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel kitchen staff and dining associates.
• Coordinate activities of chefs and kitchen personnel to ensure efficient food service.
• Ensure safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness.
• Maintain inventory and rotation of products.
• Direct and correct food presentation and portioning according to company standards.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Fill in for the Executive Chef when needed.
• Responsible for staff scheduling and daily production sheets.
• Keep current with state and facility-required annual training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
• Minimum one year as a dining room manager.
• Experience in senior living or geriatric environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
