About the position

The Food & Beverage Manager at Hilton Garden Inn is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations within the hotel, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to quality standards. This role involves managing staff, menu planning, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The manager will also engage with guests to enhance their experience and ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) requirements for the department.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and local ordinances.
  • Manage food preparation, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Assist in training department employees and mentoring associates.
  • Supervise food preparation, serving, storage, and cleaning tasks.
  • Plan and prepare menus while monitoring food costs.
  • Maintain quality and appearance of common areas.
  • Order food and beverage inventory within budget restrictions.
  • Interact and socialize with guests to enhance their experience.
  • Perform various food preparation duties, including cooking and cleaning.
  • Operate cooking equipment and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Brand Standards and Health Department requirements.
  • Complete shift checklist responsibilities and support team members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in the food and beverage industry required.
  • Supervisory experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of business matters.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Good supervisory skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust work priorities as necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification of ASI food safety training or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with Micros register system.
