About the position

As a Food & Beverage Team Leader at Target, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have a fresh, full, and food-safe shopping experience. This position is part of the Food & Beverage team, which is dedicated to providing a consistent and high-quality experience for our guests. You will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members, managing daily and weekly workloads, and executing strategies that align with department sales goals. Your leadership will help foster a culture of guest service, ensuring that your team prioritizes the needs of our guests while maintaining operational excellence. In this role, you will be expected to understand and execute on sales goals, manage inventory effectively, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. You will assess both backroom and sales floor areas, identify priorities, and develop business plans to enhance the shopping experience. Your responsibilities will also include establishing relationships with vendors, ensuring accurate in-stocks, and leading your team to uphold brand standards for food services such as Starbucks and Pizza Hut. You will be a subject matter expert in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring that your store operates within legal guidelines. The Food & Beverage Team Leader position is dynamic and requires adaptability, as no two days will be the same. You will be expected to work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends. Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Execute a fresh, full, and food safe area during all operating hours leveraging strong inventory management and Food Safety policies.
  • Assess Food & Beverage and Food Service areas; walk Food & Beverage Standards to identify priorities and develop business plans.
  • Ensure proper execution on all food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Validate and follow-up on experts' progress against Daily Assignment Sheets and production area routines.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends.
  • Establish relationships with direct to store delivery (DSD) vendors to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders with DSD distributors according to best practices.
  • Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Participate in team onboarding and learning and close knowledge gaps through training and experiences.
  • Become a subject matter expert in federal, state, and local adult beverage laws as they apply to your business.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience and model expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Support your Executive Team Leader to create a safety advocacy culture and identify hazards.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and modeling inclusive behaviors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
