About the position

The Food Manufacturing Packer position at Randstad in Vernon, CA involves working in a fast-paced environment to ensure the proper packaging of food products. The role requires adherence to food safety standards and quality control measures while performing various tasks at different workstations. Packers will be responsible for assembling boxes, inspecting products, and maintaining cleanliness in their work areas, all while following safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assembles carton boxes by folding, bending, and taping them into place.
• Marks carton boxes according to product specifications.
• Stands by conveyor belt and picks up product to place it in appropriate containers.
• Spot checks weight of product or ensures the correct number of products are placed in containers.
• Picks up trays filled with the correct amount of product and processes them through wrapping and/or taping machines.
• Inspects wrapped trays to ensure they are completely sealed.
• Picks up wrapped trays and places them in carton boxes (cases).
• Stacks boxes (cases) on a pallet.
• Rotates through different positions for cross-training and ergonomic reasons.
• Reports any food safety or quality problems to authorized personnel.
• Follows Food Safety Plan (FSP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
• Adheres to all OSHA safety rules and food safety laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of CGMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues effectively.
• Experience in food processing environments is preferred.
• Ability to sanitize work areas thoroughly and consistently.
• Proficient in packaging techniques that meet industry standards.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
