About the position
The Food Operations Assistant Director at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women supervises the activities of Food Service staff and inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to the population, ensuring compliance with all policies. This position manages operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and security regulations. Responsibilities include budgeting, procurement, food storage, timekeeping, and schedule management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Food Service staff and inmates in meal preparation and serving.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and security regulations.
- Manage budgeting and procurement processes.
- Oversee food storage and timekeeping.
- Manage schedule for food service operations.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of large volume food operations.
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook.
- Skilled in the operation of food service equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and/or inmates in a food service environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Serv-Safe Certification.
- Working knowledge of Department of Corrections (DOC) policies and procedures for Food Services.
- Food Service experience in a correctional, educational, hospital, or similar institutional environment.
