About the position

The Food and Beverage Operations Manager 1 at Newark International Airport is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the airport lounge, ensuring high-quality food and beverage service while managing a team of hourly employees. This role involves labor cost management, scheduling, inventory control, training, and maintaining service standards in compliance with Sodexo and airline client expectations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food operations and ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
  • Develop and maintain client and customer relationships.
  • Motivate, coach, mentor, and develop frontline staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo standards, including food and physical safety programs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of basic management experience.
  • 1 year of work experience in food or culinary services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated food inventory and ordering systems.
  • Knowledge of menu graphics programs.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
