About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the food production process, ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and safely. You will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to assist in the preparation of various dishes, adhering to food safety standards and dietary requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist in the assembly of dishes according to menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled properly.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and ovens safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with catering staff to meet dietary department needs for special events.
- Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Support chefs in various culinary tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or catering is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Ability to use kitchen tools and equipment safely, particularly knives.
