About the position

The Food Production Manager will oversee the daily operations of a food production facility in Milford, MA, ensuring efficient production processes, compliance with food safety regulations, and effective team management. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of quality and safety in food manufacturing while meeting production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet production goals.
  • Oversee the entire production process, including ingredient preparation, cooking, packaging, and quality control.
  • Monitor production metrics and adjust processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide continuous training on operational tasks and food safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA).
  • Perform regular inspections of production areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Oversee inventory levels for ingredients and production materials, ensuring supplies are stocked.
  • Coordinate with warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory tracking.
  • Ensure all production equipment is well-maintained and in working order.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between production, quality assurance, and warehouse departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of production numbers, inventory usage, and personnel attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of management experience in food manufacturing or production.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance protocols (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA regulations).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in production software (e.g., CompEat, ERP systems) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
