About the position

PeopleReady of Rochester, NY is now hiring Food Production Workers! This position is available for 1st and 2nd shift with the possibility to grow into your role and further your career. As a Food Production Worker, you will be working in a fast-paced environment for a food production company. Your responsibilities will include unloading, producing, and packaging food material. You will learn, understand, and follow safe operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). It is essential to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that product quality standards are met. You will perform all tasks and duties required to ensure production and efficiency standards are met, and assist in other areas of production as needed. This role requires physical stamina, as you will be lifting, carrying, and pushing weights of up to 50 to 100 pounds regularly and standing for extended periods of time. You will also be responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, machinery, and equipment, and reporting any safety, quality, sanitation, and maintenance issues to the Production Supervisor. Communication with supervisors and co-workers regarding all information relevant to the manufacturing process is crucial, as is ensuring the proper set-up for the next shift and communicating with the next shift.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the proper set-up for the next shift and communicates with next shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50 to 100 pounds consistently.
  • Attention to detail, including tracking of batch codes, use of recipes, and following instructions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
  • Prior food production experience preferred, but not required.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred.
