About the position

The Food Program Administrator is responsible for overseeing food service programs and activities at the YMCA and Ann Wickman Child Development Center. This role involves menu planning, leading food-related activities for children, managing volunteers, ensuring compliance with health guidelines, and maintaining vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for menu planning for pre-packaged foods, preparing breakfasts and snacks daily.
  • Develop and lead weekly food-related activities for school-aged children.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers.
  • Maintain thorough records related to food handling, inventory, and meal distribution, ensuring compliance with YMCA and health department guidelines.
  • Oversee monthly relationships with food vendors.
  • Complete and uphold all certifications in food handling and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Commitment to YMCA ethics and standards, with a desire to make a positive impact on the community.
  • Previous experience coordinating food programs or working in community-focused roles is a plus.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
