About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Retail/Sales Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Bakery store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality food products while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires effective inventory management, team recruitment, and the ability to negotiate with vendors to maintain optimal stock levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the food department, including inventory control and management.
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure efficient shift management and high performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance retail sales within the food section.
• Monitor food safety standards and compliance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and perform regular audits.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Lead by example in promoting a positive work environment and fostering teamwork.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management, preferably within a grocery store or food service environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency in inventory control techniques and best practices for inventory management.
• Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff and customers.
• A keen understanding of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Previous experience in retail sales is highly desirable.
