About the position
Charcoal Venice is an inviting neighborhood restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef and Owner Josiah Citrin, inspired by the backyard barbecues he hosts on weekends for friends and family. The restaurant offers a contemporary and elegant environment, where everything is cooked indoors over live fire, whether over charcoal or in the coals. Our guests are welcomed into a warm atmosphere, driven by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We are currently seeking a part-time Food Runner/Back Server who embodies genuine kindness and a passion for hospitality. This role is essential in ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience. Food Runners are expected to have an intimate knowledge of the menu, making prior experience in a Chef-Driven restaurant highly desirable. Additionally, Back Servers must maintain a solid and efficient presence on the floor, learning our steps of service while exhibiting a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and inquire about their water preferences.
- Maintain tables by ensuring cleanliness and readiness for new guests.
- Run food to tables, accurately describing dishes and being aware of allergens.
- Clean and reset tables after guests leave.
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform regular bathroom checks to maintain cleanliness.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality preferred, especially in Chef-driven restaurants.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food service procedures and guest relations.
- Must have a valid Food Handler's Certification.
