About the position

We are currently seeking a Food Safety Manager for Aramark at the Seattle Convention Center. The Food Safety Manager will coordinate efforts targeting a holistic approach to assist the organization with implementation of safety and risk control programs, processes, and procedures to protect people, property, environment, and company assets. This position will function as a strategic operational support generalist to enhance safety and risk process improvements. This role will also function as a key point of contact for addressing operational needs as they relate to occupational safety, food safety & sanitation compliance, employee training and support execution of all Aramark’s safety process & procedures. Training and coaching of location management teams and staff is a main function within this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly food safety audits
  • Distribute daily safety briefs
  • Conduct and track safe observations
  • Conduct and track safe inspections
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly employee safety meetings
  • Train employees on safety protocols
  • Manage Washington State Food Worker Card compliance
  • Ensure Serv Safe certification
  • Oversee Aramark Safe program
  • Manage DOH compliance
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders
  • Handle incident management and insurance/WC claim management
  • Achieve safety metrics goal attainment
  • Involve in GMM management
  • Manage third party relationships such as pest control
  • Oversee Cleaning Chemical Program
  • Manage Safety and Personal Protection Equipment Program
  • Ensure compliance with Daily, Monthly and Open/Close Cleaning Procedures
  • Work with corporate and the DOH on obtaining new and renewing existing licenses/certificates
  • Partner with Stewarding Manager to ensure cleanliness of all locations
  • Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures
  • Coordinate safety and security programs to promote a safe working environment
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety & Health, Business Administration, or Public Health preferred; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of food safety and/or occupational experience
  • Certified ServSafe manager preferred or ability to obtain training certification within one month of employment
  • Flexibility to work within a dynamic work environment and a matrix style reporting structure
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Proficient in computer essentials; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong coaching, influencing & negotiating skills
  • Comfortable providing training and coaching to management and hourly employees
  • Ability to proactively assess location food and occupational needs and assist in finding solutions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
  • Previous management/training experience required
  • Previous occupational, food, and/or culinary experience in a high volume venue or health/regulatory department preferred
