About the position

The Food Sanitation Associate is responsible for leading sanitation routines during the 2nd shift at the facility. This role involves maintaining food safety and quality programs, providing technical support, and ensuring effective sanitation practices across all shifts. The associate will supervise cleaning operations, enforce food safety regulations, and coordinate sanitation schedules to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all sanitation routines on the 2nd shift in the facility.
  • Maintain the Food Safety and Quality Programs related to sanitation.
  • Work with food handlers and production personnel on sanitary procedures.
  • Direct and perform cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce food safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on valves and pumps as needed.
  • Supervise and execute CIP validation and corrective actions for all CIP circuits.
  • Handle validation of sanitizing processes for thermal processes and fillers.
  • Coordinate execution of Master Sanitation Schedules for all zones of the facility.
  • Ensure coordination of sanitation record review routines.
  • Execute Sanitation PM Program for valves, gaskets, etc.
  • Measure attainment of PM metrics impacting Food Safety.
  • Ensure execution of Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support for investigations related to product quality and food safety deviations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for in-process and finished products.
  • Perform inventory control for cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and tools.
  • Maintain clean and organized chemical room and assist with plant audits.
  • Review, develop, and update sanitation SOPs, documenting mid-week and End of Week CIP's.
  • Assist with Plant Start up on Sundays, including Tanker Receiving and Filler Prep.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years related experience and/or training in sanitation or food safety.
  • Experience with execution of Food Safety Plans and compliance with 21 CFR Part 117 and/or 21 CFR Part 120.
  • PCQI certification and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, inventory reports, and safety rules.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical skills to work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Nice-to-haves
