About the position
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. The role requires effective communication and the ability to follow instructions, as well as a commitment to maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Preventively maintain, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and alter defective equipment.
- Provide maintenance on complex production equipment.
- Control inventory and requisition appropriate parts.
- Perform maintenance checks on buildings and equipment.
- Maintain electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Operate industrial equipment such as skyjack, forklift, and boomlift.
- Comply with company safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform general equipment repair and installation of safety equipment when necessary.
- Team with production staff to encourage proper use and care of all equipment.
- Maintain appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of maintenance experience with a previous employer within the last 3 years.
- Ability to inspect equipment and recognize potential problems.
- Independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
- Must be willing to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
