About the position

The position involves assisting in the preparation, assembly, and delivery of meals and snacks for patients, cafeteria, and other customers. The role includes requesting and storing food supplies, preparing simple food items, assembling patient trays, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas. The individual will work under the guidance of the Chef/Sous Chef and adhere to health and safety standards while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Request and conserve food and supplies necessary for assigned duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of simple food products according to standardized recipes.
  • Operate food service equipment including choppers, blenders, and dish-machines.
  • Portion food and assemble meals following menus and customer requests.
  • Serve food trays and items to patients and customers.
  • Clean food service areas and equipment as scheduled or assigned.
  • Maintain temperature, production, cleaning, and other records as required.
  • Perform clerical duties related to patient diet orders and food production records.
  • Transport and retrieve patient food carts as needed.
  • Maintain performance and satisfaction standards as outlined in evaluations.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • ServSafe certification required with a minimum score of 75%.
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in food service is a plus.
