About the position

The Food Service Assistant at Adams And Associates Inc. is responsible for supporting food preparation and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria areas. This entry-level position ensures that food, supplies, and equipment are available and properly stored, while also providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food, supplies, and equipment are available and stored properly when not in use.
• Assist in the preparation of food for meals.
• Perform kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas.
• Transfer food, supplies, and equipment between storage areas and kitchen/cafeteria.
• Wash, peel, and core fruits and vegetables as necessary.
• Set up and take down tables and chairs.
• Scrape, wash, and store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Clear, clean, and sanitize kitchen, cafeteria area, and food storage areas.
• Clean refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
• Sweep, mop, wax, and strip wax from floors.
• Clean and store trash containers in appropriate areas.
• Degrease and sanitize vent screens and filters.
• Provide superior customer service at all times.
• Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
• Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
• May supervise Job Corps Work-Based Learning and Leisure Time Student employees.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a food services operation desired.
• Ability to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification required.
• Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and assess lift loads for assistance.
