About the position

The Food Services Associate at Craig Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality food service to patients, staff, and visitors. This position involves daily food production and service in various dining areas, including the cafeteria and floor bistros. The associate will be responsible for meal preparation, cash register operations, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the food service areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily production and serving of food for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Serve meals from a cafeteria-style line and operate a cash register.
• Prepare food items on a griddle and/or fryer, and assemble ingredients for hot and cold food items.
• Set up and restock serving areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Deliver nourishments and assist with dishwashing duties as needed.
• Prepare serving areas for meal service, including salad bars and snack stations.
• Batch cook grill and fryer items to minimize waste and maximize quality.
• Interact with patients and staff to provide exceptional customer service during meal service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of food service experience preferred.
• Cashier and/or computer experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative working relationships.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a healthcare food service environment.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and guidelines.
