About the position

The Food Service Associate/Deli Clerk at Global Partners LP is responsible for managing the daily operations of the deli and food service areas, ensuring high standards of sanitation, store appearance, and guest service. This role is integral to enhancing the customer experience and maintaining the quality of food service offerings across various brands within the company.

Responsibilities

• Process cash register transactions, giving back change and refunds.
• Learn to use register, scales, scanners, and debit/credit terminals.
• Read UPC codes, product labels, shelf signage, and posted company policies/procedures.
• Prepare, wrap, box, weigh, slice, and stock deli/food service products, ensuring product quality and safety.
• Take guest orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the guest's satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.
• Display products following deli department and/or merchandising guidelines.
• Work safely around sharp slicers, tools, and hot ovens and burners.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 2 years of foodservice or retail management experience.
• Reliable transportation and an active driver's license.
• Serv-safe certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend and twist below the waist, and frequently lift and/or maneuver merchandise and supplies.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in food preparation and cooking of deli items.
