About the position
The Food Service Attendant position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of food in a healthcare setting. This role involves ensuring high standards of sanitation and food safety while providing excellent customer service to patients and staff. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of the cafeteria operations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble patient meals accurately and quickly according to the menu.
- Prepare trays for modified diets and differentiate between regular and modified food items.
- Operate and maintain food service equipment, including dish machines and pot sinks.
- Efficiently wash dishes and maintain cleanliness in the pot washing area.
- Follow sanitation practices and use cleaning chemicals appropriately.
- Comply with safety and health regulations, including infection prevention procedures.
- Interact compassionately with patients, families, and staff, demonstrating empathy and respect.
- Report any unsafe conditions or violations to the supervisor.
Requirements
