About the position

Food Service Clerks at Haggen Northwest Fresh are responsible for producing, packaging, and merchandising fresh delicatessen products while assisting guests with their selections. The role includes maintaining product freshness, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and participating in cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas. Clerks may work in various capacities, including sales and production, and are expected to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce, package, and merchandise fresh delicatessen products.
• Assist guests with product selection and sales at the service counter.
• Maintain case conditions and replenish products according to freshness policies.
• Set up service cases including salad and soup bars, charcuterie, and hot case items.
• Track sales, build displays, and maintain inventories.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as these are busy times.
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, twist, pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing for up to 8 hours during shifts.
• Friendly customer care and service skills.
• Obtain a food handler's permit.
