About the position

Skagit Valley College is seeking a part-time Food Custodian for the ECEAP location in Anacortes, WA. This temporary position involves preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and classrooms, and supporting the dietary needs of children enrolled in the program. The role typically requires working 15 hours or fewer per week, Monday through Friday, during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Review and follow a cycle menu to ensure appropriate food portions are available.
• Prepare food for breakfast, snacks, and lunches at the Center.
• Support classroom staff in ensuring appropriate serving sizes are offered.
• Maintain required records of food purchases and preparation as requested.
• Follow appropriate food handling practices and maintain food safety standards.
• Assist with keeping accurate records of daily attendance and meals served.
• Clean up after meals, ensuring proper sanitization of dishes and equipment.
• Maintain awareness of children's special dietary needs and provide substitutions as necessary.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and classrooms, including restrooms.
• Perform periodic cleaning tasks and assist with general cleaning duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in cleaning, sanitization, and custodial work.

Nice-to-haves

• Two or more years of experience in food service.
• Experience in an early learning setting.
