About the position

The Food Service Driver at Friendship Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery and service of food to residents. This position involves working closely with the facility's Dietitian and Director of Food Services to maintain high standards of food service and hygiene, while also fostering good relationships with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to facilities
• Work with the facility's Dietitian/Director of Food Services as necessary and implement recommended changes
• Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
• Assist cook in preparing meals
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary
• Obtain food supplies for next meal
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Valid CA Driver's License
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
• Perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation and safety
