About the position

The Food Service Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment throughout the Maricopa Unified School District. This includes equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers. The position requires collaboration with co-workers and district administration to ensure the safe operation of all food service systems in district facilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose issues, execute repair, and perform preventative maintenance on kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Install new food service equipment and systems as required.
• Maintain Freon dispensing records to meet federal requirements.
• Create and maintain a periodic preventive maintenance schedule.
• Receive, prioritize, and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records on material used and labor required.
• Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
• Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report uncorrectable conditions to the supervisor.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed, which may require after-hour calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Universal EPA Certification for refrigerants.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in low temp applications.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License Required.
