UPMC Sherwood Oaks is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Liaison to join our team in Cranberry Township. This full-time position is essential in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of food service and nutrition care. The Food Service Liaison will work closely with both patients and clinical staff to address any concerns or issues that may arise regarding food service and dietary needs. The role requires effective communication skills, as the liaison will be responsible for relaying patient concerns to supervisors and clinical staff promptly. The hours for this position are structured to provide comprehensive coverage, with shifts from 6 AM to 2:30 PM and 10 AM to 7 PM, including every other weekend and holiday. This schedule is designed to ensure that our food service operations run smoothly and that patient needs are met at all times. The Food Service Liaison will also be responsible for processing nutrition care orders accurately and in a timely manner, troubleshooting any interface issues with diet orders, and preparing tray tickets for food assembly according to established workflow procedures. In addition to these responsibilities, the Food Service Liaison will assist patients with menu planning in accordance with their dietary orders, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor. Record-keeping and report preparation are also key components of this role, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Communicates patient concerns or issues to supervisor or clinical staff in a timely fashion.
  • Processes all phone calls using appropriate telephone skills.
  • Follows up on issues in a timely manner to resolution.
  • Processes all nutrition care orders according to established procedures in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoots interface issues with diet orders and resolves them.
  • Reports software and printer problems to appropriate IS individual/group in a timely fashion.
  • Prepares tray tickets for food assembly according to workflow procedures in the operation.
  • Assists patients with menu planning in accordance with diet order in a helpful, friendly manner.
  • Maintains record-keeping and prepares reports as assigned.

Requirements
