About the position

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, responsible for overseeing back of the house production operations and patient services. This role includes managing ordering, inventory, and ensuring HACCP compliance in a 655-bed academic medical center. The manager will lead a team, enhance patient dining experiences, and ensure high standards of food safety and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed.
• Manage vendor relationships and purchasing compliance.
• Oversee daily food service operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Supervise hourly associates, focusing on employee development and motivation.
• Evaluate and develop service levels for the Patient Services Program to exceed satisfaction.
• Participate in Sodexo's Patient Dining Program and conduct daily meal rounding for service recovery.
• Collaborate with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient experience.
• Perform tray assessments to ensure food quality, presentation, and accuracy.
• Achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits, exceeding Sodexo standards for Gold Checks.
• Provide stellar customer service and oversee cash handling processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of management experience in food service.
