About the position

The Food Service Supervisor position at Aramark is a full-time role focused on leading and coordinating food service operations. The supervisor will oversee staff, ensure food safety and quality, maintain inventory, and promote teamwork and employee growth. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and organized food service environment while also supporting the Food Service Director and Manager in daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets.
  • Direct daily activities of the food service team.
  • Maintain food production safety and quality according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure food items are stored safely and organized.
  • Maintain serving schedules and ensure food is served per menu specifications.
  • Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare orders as needed for accurate production.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees, promoting growth and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
  • Train and mentor food service workers.
  • Maintain logs on equipment maintenance within the department.
  • Ensure food safety and temperature logs are completed with corrective actions as necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checklist.
  • Recommend equipment replacements as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multi-tasking.
  • Fill in for absent employees as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and ensure timely preparation and delivery.
  • Work occasional night and weekend catered events.
  • Attend food service meetings with staff.
  • Maintain communication with staff through various channels.
  • Perform cashier duties as needed.
  • Promote good public relations.

Requirements

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
  • Must complete a sanitation course within the first year.
  • Knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
