About the position

The Food Service Supervisor at The Rhodes School is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily food service operations at an assigned school campus. This role ensures compliance with District, State, and Federal regulations regarding nutrition, sanitation, and safety. The supervisor will oversee food service staff, manage budgets, and develop menus to enhance student participation and community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate and order the amount of food and supplies needed; monitor and control expenditures and maintain assigned budget.
  • Inspect lunchroom and kitchen area daily to assure compliance with health and safety requirements and regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work for efficient use of staff and resources.
  • Develop monthly breakfast and lunch menus.
  • Train and assist employees in the proper handling of foods and equipment, and maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Maintain, prepare, and review menus, inventories, logs, and reports; input information into a computer for records.
  • Supervise and assist with food preparation and distribution to District students and staff; coordinate food service operations with school activities.
  • Assist in the storage and disposal of unused foods.
  • Perform related duties as required, including duties at special meal functions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by CFO, Principal, or Superintendent.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1-2 years of working in the food service industry.
  • Food Service Worker Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
