About the position

We are a food service company looking to hire a food service worker at our main kitchen location in Eagan, MN. This position is essential for ensuring that our food service operations run smoothly across various kitchen locations in the metro area. The food service worker will be responsible for traveling to different sites to assist with food preparation, service, and general kitchen duties. When not assigned to float services, the worker will report and work at the main kitchen. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, as well as effective communication with team members and supervisors. The food service worker will be expected to prepare and serve food according to established menus and portion controls, ensuring that all food is of the highest quality and freshness. This includes verifying food quality upon receipt, checking temperatures, and ensuring timely food preparation to meet service schedules. The worker will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, stocking supplies, and completing opening and closing duties as per approved procedures. Additionally, the worker must report any health and safety concerns to management immediately and adhere to the company dress code at all times. This position offers a pay range of $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, and is expected to require 32 to 40 hours of work per week, typically from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. The food service worker will play a vital role in ensuring that our food service operations are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall success of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various sites to perform needed kitchen duties (covering absences/time off requests).
  • Prepares and serves food according to menus and portion controls.
  • Verifies food quality, quantity, and freshness when receiving food.
  • Temps food upon receipt and before serving.
  • Ensures that all food preparation is done in a timely manner to meet schedules.
  • Communicates shortage of menu items to Field Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Places dishes in dishwasher and cleans dishes in pot and pan sink as needed.
  • Stocks dishes, glassware, and silverware as needed.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Completes opening and closing duties in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
  • Maintains a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observes the company dress code.
  • Operates all equipment appropriately as required.
  • Completes paperwork.
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen facilities.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the school.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Entry-level position in the food industry.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
