About the position

The Food Service Worker at Hillcrest plays a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for residents by taking and delivering food and beverage orders. This position is integral to the daily dietary needs of residents, assisting with their personalized care plans and ensuring a pleasant atmosphere during meals and activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide table service to residents by taking and delivering food and beverage orders.
• Assist residents with care in transfers and attendance at meals, activities, and appointments.
• Ensure tables are clean and properly set with utensils and napkins before residents are seated.
• Assist with meal service, catering, or special events as needed.
• Orient new residents to the dining room and their care plans as directed.
• Ensure food is prepared correctly and to customer satisfaction, returning incorrect orders to the kitchen.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and attractive work area, including the dining room and small wares storage area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware.
• Stock and maintain par levels of food and non-food items, ensuring proper storage of all foods.

Requirements

• ServSafe certification required within 2 months of hire.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year of caregiver or aide experience in an ALF, LTC, SNF, or hospital.
