About the position
The Food Service Worker II position is responsible for promoting meal assistance to patients and residents in a hospital setting. This role involves assisting with meal selections, assembling and delivering meals, and ensuring safe food handling practices are maintained. The worker will communicate any patient concerns to the clinical dietitian and support the overall nutritional services department.
Responsibilities
- Promote meal assistance to patients and residents on a daily basis.
- Assist with meal selections and the assembly and delivery of meals and food products.
- Maintain safe food handling using clean as you go procedures.
- Assist patients with any needs related to their trays, such as opening products.
- Accurately serve patients in accordance with their diet prescriptions.
- Communicate patients' concerns with the clinical dietitian.
- Stock unit kitchens with necessary supplies.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- High School students accepted.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with typical kitchen hazards such as sharp utensils and hot items.
- Ability to work with cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
- Prolonged standing, walking, or other constant physical movements on a routine basis.
- Ability to handle varied stress levels due to periodic workload pressure.
Benefits
- Pay range of $16.00 - $20.80 per hour.
