About The Position

Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, the Food Service Worker fulfills various tasks essential to the daily functioning of the Food Service program. This role includes responsibilities such as food preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning, ensuring compliance with nutrition standards and sanitation regulations.

Requirements

  • Serve Safe Certification is required, obtainable within one year of employment.
  • Allergen Training is required, certification obtainable after employment begins.
  • CPR certification is required, obtainable after employment begins.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as a team member by actively participating in food preparation and daily production of breakfast, lunch, snacks, encompassing tasks such as prepping, cooking, serving, cleaning, and more.
  • Prepare food according to the planned menu and standardized recipes.
  • Serve accurate portions of each product in adherence to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Nutrition guidelines.
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of a reimbursable meal program.
  • Assist in the daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, including washing and sanitizing serving, prepping, and storage equipment.
  • Keep accurate records as instructed, including but not limited to Adults and Students without accounts in Point of Sale, Production Records, Temperature Logs, and Cash.
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen and storage areas at intervals during the year as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Work efficiently and precisely under pressure.
  • Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and safety.
  • Check email at a minimum once a day.
  • Maintain positive working relations with colleagues, demonstrating consideration, patience, respect, and self-control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director.
  • Report to the assigned school to substitute as needed or directed by the Food Service Director.
