About the position

The Food Unit Lead position at Morrison Healthcare involves coordinating the activities of food-service employees to create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. This role emphasizes quality customer service, efficient meal service, and adherence to company standards for food preparation and sanitation. The Food Unit Lead will also be responsible for training staff, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of food-service employees.
• Creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors.
• Provides quality customer service by offering one-on-one attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items according to company standards.
• Helps plan menus.
• Ensures timely and efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees and assigns work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Completes required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory and payroll.
• Responsible for proper cash handling as per the Food Accounting Manual.
• Orders food and necessary supplies from approved sources.
• Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility.
• Develops sanitation schedules and ensures adherence by food-service employees.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Helps select and orient employees; oversees staff training in areas of responsibility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
