About the position

The position involves receiving and shipping merchandise at the Distribution Centers, ensuring adherence to the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role is based in Portland, Oregon, and is part of the Fred Meyer family, which is a subsidiary of The Kroger Company. The job requires working in a warehouse environment with varying climatic conditions and involves physical tasks such as lifting and operating power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check in all freight for trucks.
• Unload and verify quantity of incoming merchandise against shipping bills.
• Date-mark incoming freight to ensure proper rotation of merchandise.
• Operate power equipment including highlift and riding jacks.
• Maintain proper number of load locks for each trailer.
• Place merchandise in designated storage areas.
• Pull orders for stores and transport merchandise to the shipping area.
• Load merchandise into trucks appropriately.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in the warehouse through cleaning and general upkeep.
• Follow established safety procedures and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with temperature changes.
• Must pass company-required physical and drug testing.
• Ability to work days, nights, or evenings, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds infrequently, 50 pounds frequently, and 30 pounds repeatedly.
• Required to perform at least the minimum acceptable levels of performance of Engineered Labor Standards.
