About the position

The Foodservice Worker position is a full-time role within the GMC Food Services Team, responsible for performing routine tasks related to food portioning, serving, and cleaning. The role emphasizes adherence to service standards and regulatory requirements while ensuring a professional environment. Workers will engage in various foodservice tasks, including food preparation, packaging, and sanitation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of food handling in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks related to portioning and serving food.
  • Clean and sanitize food service areas as required by management and regulatory agencies.
  • Take and record temperatures of food and food storage areas.
  • Place food trays over warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated cabinets.
  • Weigh or measure ingredients for food preparation.
  • Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in appropriate storage areas.
  • Handle cash transactions as needed.
  • Read and interpret patient meal tickets and confirm patient identifiers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to follow special cleaning and trash handling techniques as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Capability to work in a clinical environment and comply with organization policies and procedures.
