About the position

The Football Strength & Conditioning Program Aide at Texas A&M University is designed to educate future coaches in the foundational principles of Collegiate Football Strength and Conditioning. This role provides hands-on experience in coaching, operating performance technology, and maintaining a safe training environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Assists staff in the implementation of assigned sports performance programs.
  • Sets up and breaks down training equipment.
  • Maintains and upkeeps the facilities to ensure a safe training environment.
  • Actively coaches and teaches proper movement and lifting techniques.
  • Coaches small training groups independently.
  • Maintains familiarity with NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.
  • Ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a college athletics setting working directly with student athletes.
  • Actively pursuing or obtained a degree in an Exercise Science related field.
  • Working towards a certification with a recognized governing body.
  • Proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic lifting and Powerlifting movements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
