About the position

As a Collection and Foreclosure Paralegal, you will provide essential support to attorneys in the Collection and Foreclosure Department. This role is critical in ensuring that all legal processes related to collections and foreclosures are handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws. Your responsibilities will include preparing initial demand letters, notice of intent to foreclose letters, and liens. You will also be tasked with generating and managing complaint packages, preparing all foreclosure motions, including the motion for summary judgment, and final judgment applications. Effective communication with delinquent owners is a key aspect of this position, as you will need to discuss their accounts and provide them with necessary information regarding their situations. In addition to document preparation, you will calendar motions and monitor the status of lender's actions to ensure timely progression of cases. A thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related state laws is crucial for this role, as you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with these regulations throughout the foreclosure process. This position requires a proactive approach to managing case files and maintaining organized records, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other legal staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate, or Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in collections and foreclosure within a law firm.
  • Proficiency in technology applications such as case management software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
