About the position

The Foreign Filing Reporting Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting the patent application process at a national law firm. This position involves managing the filing of patent applications and responding to various communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The successful candidate will also prepare client correspondence related to these filings, ensuring compliance and timely communication.

Responsibilities

• File patent applications with the USPTO.
• Respond to Office Actions and Information Disclosure Statements.
• Prepare routine client reporting correspondence related to patent filings.
• Manage patent annuity payments and coordinate with third-party vendors for payment processing.
• Utilize the USPTO's electronic filing system (PAIR) for submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Paralegal certificate from an accredited program required.
• Experience filing patent applications and responding to Office Actions with the USPTO.
• Familiarity with Information Disclosure Statements and related correspondence.
• Experience with the USPTO's electronic filing system (PAIR).
• Experience handling patent annuity payments and coordinating with third-party vendors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
