About the position

The Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Radar Systems Engineer at BlueHalo will provide technical engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) X-Band Ground Sensors Directorate. This role is crucial for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Radar Project Office, requiring collaboration with various stakeholders and a focus on radar system testing, deployment, and sustainment activities. The engineer will manage complex technical issues and contribute to engineering documentation, ensuring effective communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise to the MDA X-Band Ground Sensors Directorate for the KSA Radar Project, assisting in radar system testing, acceptance, deployment, facility design, and sustainment.
  • Represent the program office in multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) focused on radar system testing, acceptance, site activation, and sustainment engineering.
  • Participate in failure review activities, corrective actions, and obsolescence management.
  • Monitor software development progress, identify issues that could delay milestones, and recommend actions to resolve problems.
  • Prepare technical documents, engineering briefs, schedules, risk management plans, and executive-level briefings and presentations.
  • Develop program plans, milestones (POA&M), and recommend courses of action to senior leadership, including executive-level results presentations and analyses.
  • Interface with FMS Weapon System Program Office, Case Management Division, USACE, Foreign Liaison Officers, and industry partners. Coordinate project activities with other government agencies (OGAs).
  • Assist in identifying and resolving complex technical issues related to radar production, system integration, deployment, and tactical site operations for KSA.
  • Apply disciplined systems engineering practices to resolve technical performance and integration challenges.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience working on missile defense-related or large, complex DoD programs/projects.
  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
  • Expertise in phased array radar theory, function, and design.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex technical issues across multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales processes and protocols.
  • Experience with Integrated Missile Defense Radar Systems, including integration, testing, and fielding.
  • Experience with systems engineering 'V' processes and lifecycle management of radar and defense systems.
  • Familiarity with program management processes, including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Experience with software development, testing, and fielding in missile defense or similar technical fields.
  • Ability to present complex technical information to senior leaders and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and contribute to team goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes, organizational structure, and Missile Defense System (MDS) architecture.
