About the position

The Foreman at CoolSys serves as the Technical Lead and Crew Chief on assigned projects within the HVAC and refrigeration industry. This role is pivotal in managing project performance, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and maintaining productive relationships with various stakeholders. The Foreman is responsible for overseeing job costs, reporting on job status, and ensuring the effective use of resources while promoting a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Technical Lead and Crew Chief on assigned projects.
  • Act as the Lead Technical resource on assigned projects.
  • Report on job status and performance.
  • Control job costs and maintain project labor hours within acceptable limits.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the use of PPE and safe behavior by all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with installation policies and procedures, including project tracking and safety protocols.
  • Oversee third-party resources as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related industry/trade.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours.
  • Ability to organize tasks and use good judgment in making work assignments.
  • Ability to give clear instructions and guidance as needed.
  • Ability to ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety policies.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain punctuality and dependability.
  • Proficiency in computer tools including E-Mail, Word, and Project Planning Software (Projectmates).

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree is a plus.
  • Experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
